SnoBowl Ski & Bike Park is a 501 (c) (3) Not-for-Profit, Community Ski and Snowboard Area, operated by volunteers on land owned by Elko County. It is located 15 minutes out of Elko, Nevada on N. 5th Street at 1992 Snowbowl Rd. It first began operations in 1992, and is one of the most enjoyable winter recreation options that Elko has to offer. SnoBowl also offers lift-served mountain bike terrain for area riders. SnoBowl features a 99-chair, 700 vertical foot double chairlift, with a peak elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level. It also has a rope tow for beginning skiers and a multitude of other outdoor options for people who are more inclined to hiking, sledding or snow-shoeing. Snobowl is in the process of developing their terrain parks, and will be offering several features that were donated by Mammoth Mountain and transported by Thiessen Team, and Mountain West Valve, who have been great contributors to Snobowl and the local area. The area is managed and run by many people, but the main contributor is mountain manager Roche (Rocky) Bush. It is patrolled by SnoBowl Ski Patrol, a chapter of the National Ski Patrol. Rental equipment is available at the base lodge, and ski/snowboard tuneups are available at Cedar Creek Clothing. The facilities were purchased and installed largely through donations by Elko businesses and residents. Feel free to write on the wall with questions, comments, or just a shout-out to SnoBowl. Ticket/Pass prices, snow and weather conditions, and other information are listed on the discussion tab of the group.
